I’ve had MS for about 22 years now and recently my disabilities have got quite a bit worse. I’ve been full-time in a wheelchair for 18 months. I haven’t made a film of any sort in about eight years, but with a lot of help from my daughters and some of their friends, over the past year I managed to make a 10 minute short. I’m pretty happy with how it has turned out, even though I am the main actor and I can’t act! It’s called Dark Matter. I know what you’re thinking. This is the title of the latest Pearl Jam album and a new series on AppleTV+ but it really suits my film so I’m going to stick with it.
It was finished a couple of months ago and I just got some exciting news. It has been accepted into the Vancouver and Chicago film festivals, so it will get cinema screenings over September and October. These are significant international film festivals, so I wanted to share the news on my blog, which I’ve been neglecting recently as much as my filmmaking practice!
